A day that went from worse to good

A day that went from worse to good,

Today's work day started off badly because the bus that takes all cast members to the park was an hour late and well I got assigned to a job I really detest on certain days but today was ok since I happen to have made it more fun because of the fact I was armed with Mickey Stickers and celebration buttons.

Anyway today was fun I handed out a lot of celebration buttons that were for the very first visit to Disney World. And I was like ok today won't be so bad as I can give out buttons that signify a once in a lifetime opportunity that many children won't get to experience.

Today was a good day because I did something to brighten the day of so many people.

However around 2:57PM I was walking outside taking care of my duties when I saw a little kid fall off this high stool he was sitting on, and immediately I rushed over and helped him up.

I was like "Are you alright?" and of course he told me he was ok and sat back down waiting for the Pixar Party Parade to start. So I began striking up a conversation with him and his family which made them all laugh and smile. It started out with me noting he was wearing a Lightening McQueen Shirt (whom is my second fave Cars character aside from Mater.) and I began telling him of the fact that me and Lightening McQueen drive around together a lot and we are good buddies.

Of course it was fun because he laughed and began asking me all kinds of questions like "Were you driving in the Stunt Action Show with him?" Of course I had to say no which made him giggle.

Then I began telling him and his sister this fun little backstory (every cast member has a backstory for their roles they can use when interacting with guests as long as it follows Disney's guidelines.) about how I was the Princess of Neverland and how I fought Captain Hook to earn a Hook pin (which was on the lanyard I was wearing today) and how I helped Peter Pan all the time fight Pirates along with appointing Jake The Neverland pirate to helping out to protect the kingdom.

their eyes lit up as I told then the story and they asked me questions about why I was out in the open rather than hiding and why I had to fight Captain Hook when I was a "Princess". So I told them that I was blending in with regular people to escape life inside the palace and that I liked sword fighting and fighting pirates.

It was so fun because when the parade began I of course told them to say hello to my Pixar Pals. :giggle:

So yeah I had a bad day earlier but it was brightened because I made some kids smile and because that's my job as a cast member even if I have a bad day I leave it outside the gates at Disney World and put on my A-game.

Best Day EVER!

Anyway sorry for the super late update, I was talking with my roommate today about crazy stuff and laughing at things that we noticed while watching the Super Bowl. (If you want to know please note me what the thing is because I cannot repeat it here as it's a bit in bad taste.)

My work day was pretty pleasant today as we didn't get many people to come in for eats today. It was really slow but fun as myself and my co-workers were being all bad ass and standing behind the counters like some bosses.

But my day began in the most wonderful way! I woke up early for once had the chance to take my time to ensure that everything was ready for today's tasks including collecting my costumes to be taken to to costuming so I could get more costumes and a jacket (It gets cold in the evenings.) and also because of the fact that I like the blue aprons, they're much more nicer colors than red.

Anyway when I clocked in I had no idea what position I had to take til I asked the coordinator and he wasn't sure either but of course I asked for to work the counter again (second day in a row) and he granted it to me. ^^ I am happy because it's a blast and things get done a lot faster with more people working the counter even though the kitchen people are slow on certain days but it's all good.

Anyway there were a lot of people who had birthdays and one anniversary in which we got the chance to use the phone lines reserved for these events.

So afterwards it was a slow day, you know not that many people came in and I saw an elderly couple who were having trouble reading the large menu board. The people who were supposed to give out miniature versions of the menus weren't paying attention, I took it upon myself to go around the counter and hand them a smaller menu.

It helped them a lot and the second coordinator today told me that I was doing a great job with the guests and keeping them entertained. So it made me smile and apparently I got to clock out early because it was so slow so I had the chance to really take my time to go take care of some things i needed to do.

Anyway as I was leaving I was called into the manager's office and one of the managers told me I had did something that no one in all their time working at Disney has ever done at the restaurant...
To leave my assigned position to help a guest by handing them a menu so they could see it better.

And I got a special award for it, sort of following the 4 keys of Disney Castmemberness (Is that even a real word? If not oh well!) And that made my day.

I will tell you, all you people who wish to partake in working for Disney World or Disneyland, please take it upon yourself to go to that extra mile to help or make someone's day magical.

^^ It was nice today! The Best Day EVER!

Work Day Again

Today pissed me off...
That's right it pissed me off...no amount of Disney Stuff...no amount of money and no amount of free admission can calm me down. Not only did I not have the damn chance to interact with the guests but for a record of 0.1 seconds but the lady who was training me was a wicked witch of the west.

She got on my fuckin' nerves...I swear if I wasn't in control of my temper she would've gotten told off...she was a pain in the ass...I mean every time I managed to get something right she'd bitch because I didn't do it the way she does it...as in really rude to guests and not talking to them...oh and she didn't pay attention to the kids who were with their parents...so of course no Disney moments...she instead tried quizzing them on school related things...

Oh and don't get me started how she bitched when I went to the counter to get some hot water for a mother who was going to make formula for her child...

She was a bitch...I mean how in the hell can you be a bitch in Disney World?! It's the magical place on Earth...and oh how I loved her small comments whenever I said hello to the smaller guests she was ignoring.

"You can't speak to the guests while working."

Uh in the Disney Handbook you're supposed to make a magical moment for every guest...and the fact that I had to deal with her today made me really close to saying "Fuck it" and speak to the guests.

The only thing that quelled my anger was seeing the Pixar Parade and I squeed over seeing my favorite characters from every Pixar film. I freaking loved every minute of it as it passed by the window in the break room.

but later on it got better because I hung out and trained with some people who were interacting with guests and we swapped stories of our days at home before becoming workers for the mouse.

oh and Epic co-worker from Hong Kong (who I know is Female now after being told.) totally had us cracking up because myself, my new buddy who is from Australia, and a fellow 4th day trainee were standing by the employee soda area and were having a grand old time chatting.

Anyway the lady from Hong Kong walked past and she was like "Parking Lot is out there." And we all started laughing because she was just randomly walking past and gave us this epic smile that was like she sooo knew we enjoy her joking with us and others.

Anyway today sort of was ok...but I am still pissed off...that trainer lady made me so mad...I so wish I could've had the Lady from Hong Kong...she is much more effective in training and totally makes it more fun.

Oh and I said hello to guests while doing my duties as cleaning up the condement bar and things. It was soo cute cause the little one I talked to today with her family was soo hyper.

I was cleaning up the area and I saw her walk over and was trying to get some ketchup so I gave it to her, then she pulled my hand over to the table where she was and began talking to me about things.  So of course being in cast member mode and when her family asked my name, I told them it of course, and  I went into my role (act) of being a young princess from a far off kingdom who was working.  She enjoyed it and of course she said "Bye Princess Jenny!"

That did make me feel better and I cheered up babies today too, they were crying and making cute little scrunchey faces so I made faces and they cheered up. ^^ Their parents were happy about it.

Working For The Mouse Day III

Oh how my feet ache  Yeah there's gonna be a lot of these posts starting with that til my feet stop being little bitches to me. But yeah, today wasn't so bad as I got to sleep in an extra 2 hours and got to arrive a few minutes before my official clock in time. so I got to chill today again.

 Got to do prep on the Veggie Sandwiches with the epic dude from Hong Kong (I love him to death!) and of course he had me laughing my ass off because as usual he was funny and had all of us in the prep station laughing our asses off. XDD I had dubbed him China now (but he doesn't know it.) because of how epically epic he is! And cause he actually said Aiyaa today which of course made me squeal on the inside.

Ok so today was counter work which of course i had no idea what to do but I got the hang of it thanks to our resident Brazillian Sonia whose a sweet little old lady whom was training me to take orders and bring them to the customers. Of course at first I was like ok I'll take the orders and bring them to the customers really quick, It was interesting as I had managed to mix up a few orders but it was ok cause it only took a few gentle nudges from momma brid Sonia for me to get things right.

So after my lunch hour I was handling the orders like a boss. Slinging orders left and right, chatting up customers, having a grand old time. Just being well me.

So it started to get slow and I was like ok I can chill, but of course around this time some cute little itty bitties came in and I was like OMFG I am gonna make sure they are not bored during their time waiting for their food. So I started chatting with everyone who could understand English, and some who needed me to speak slowly for them to understand.

I gave them tips on where to find Mickey, told them a lot of shows they had to go see and asked if they paid a visit to Mickey. It was really fun of course til two itty bitties came in and they were the last customers before closing. So the first thing I noticed was their Toy Story shirt and I was like eeek! my fave characters!

And the kids began telling me about their day, then of course I told them that I was close personal friends with Ariel (Who they had seen earlier) and I told them a story I made up on the fly about their adventures in Disney World as if they were royalty. :giggle: And they told me a lot of things.

The little boy showed me the Lightsaber he had gotten from one of the shops that sold Star Wars attractions and of course I said "We don't get many Jedi in here." and they laughed.

And of course me being in character as a cast member I was like "I am a princess working her day job since my kingdom was in a far away place known as Michiganadia.

They had a lot fun with me as their server since I kept them entertained and of course kept them from driving their already tired parents up a wall.

I had a lot of fun today interacting with guests and of course I ignored my pains in my feet to keep everyone happy. :lmao: Basically it was close to the end of my shift and I was just like in my head "Fuck it! I am going out in a blaze of glory today."

:lmao: So Jenny's adventure was fun today and I got to see the smiles on the faces of my customers!

Short Training Day

As the title says...I had a short training day due to a problem with my health....

Yeah that's right...I ended up getting really sick...trust me it was a normal start of the day, you know clocked in prepped some Veggie Sandwiches and had fun listening to the epic co-worker from Hong Kong crack jokes and call one of our co-workers "boy". It was a lovely time then of course I was working on the fryers today as part of the training (still don't know what the hell my permanent role is) and I got sick...

Headache, dizziness, and almost losing my breakfast...today was just...yeah...it was a bad day...I really hate i had to leave early because it was like WTF?! I never ever get sick at home yet in a new place I got sick and had to go home early T__T I knew I was sick too because as soon as I got back to my dorm I fell asleep.

That's right I slept...I had gone to bed at 9 PM last night and actually slept a full 8 hours along with eating breakfast while making sure I was ready for a busy day.

So early day...got sent home due to illness...tried fighting my illness but lost the battle...I feel better now and tomorrow morning I am gonna make sure I am 100% before going off to working and training. I won't give up because of one little sickness.

Oh and I will say my co-worker from Hong Kong was epically epic because his accent was bad ass and best of all he reminded me of China from Hetalia...

So yeah...had an inner fangirl moment.

Disney Work Day

Another day working for the Mouse...

You guys wouldn't believe how much work it takes to keep such a huge place like Walt Disney World running...I mean HollyWood Studios is always so busy yet not as busy as the Magic Kingdom (Thank Kami-sama I didn't get a role there.) but anyway today's day started like any other, It was my first official day wearing my costume and it was cute on me I mean the little apron added a really charming touch even if it was just a huge smock type of thing.

Anyway my day began at 9:30 AM (I got on the wrong bus and got there a whole hour earlier.) and yeah..ended up with more hours

Anyway...it began without a hitch, we had some e-learning to do for our role and you know it was nice to sit down for those hours til lunch. Then of course we passed by the Jedi training again! (*cries) and I was like I wanna sit outside and watch it during lunch, of course I couldn't so the best I could do were the Stormtroopers who came in for lunch.

So we began the real work and well for the first hour it was really interesting.  for your pure heart's pleasure here is Jenny's special edition of her eight hours.

First Hour(After lunch): Happy smile, working making salads with my co-worker. Giggling while being all efficient and epic. Oh hey look it's a Mickey poster! How nice! hi Mister Mouse I love working for you.

Second hour (after making the salads and is now grilling.): La la la I love working! Hooray for Disney World! Oh yay more cute kids enjoying their time visiting Mickey! I will make sure to keep your good name as great as I can Mister Mouse!

Third and Fourth Hours (Grilling sandwiches): Ok so I took a break and is now grilling again. This is fun just press two buttons and the grill cooks. How fun and efficient! Keep on smiling Mister Mouse I shall work hard for you!

Fifth and Sixth Hours (Still grilling): Ok you know what?! the free soda is epic! but what the hell!? Grilling is boring as fuck! What the hell are you smiling at now Mickey?! You big earred rat! This is all your fault! All them lies about this being the magical place on Earth! They're LIIIIIIEEEEES!!!!

Seventh Hour: *glares at poster* STOP MOCKING ME! Your customers made this trash and trashed the tables! I shall never forgive you Mickey! Stop mocking me! Stop smiling!

Eighth Hour (ready to go home): *counting down in my head* 4...3...2...1 I am free! Freedom! *clocks out and runs to cast services to catch the bus. On the way in the building I glare at the picture of Mickey and think. "You evil mouse...you lied to me!"

Yeah basically in my head I was having one of those thoughts of how much I hate my job. Don't get me wrong I like it I am just well first day sort of wiped me out and took my poor feet out with it. So I am like steamed at Mickey right now....

He so knew what he was doing...He was mocking me! j/k j/k.

i love my job I just want to figure out how to keep my feets (especially my ankles) from being all wiggly and jell-oy after standing for 8 hours. I think after standing there waiting for the grill i was like OMFG I hate this! no real effort in cooking...*sigh* Pressing a button and going to do more is just like defeats the purpose of it being a kitchen.

I will say the food there is excellent as we newbies get to sample the cuisines and we get free soda and other goodies.

I just gotta get used to standing on my feet.  I am more of an office worker.

Training Day II

Today's training...well let's see...how can I explain it?

OMFG It was amazing!

I got to see Hollywood Studios at Disney World and got the chance to see all of my favorites and I got to see the Muppet Courtyard which made me go all fangirly! I loved it because I was touring the grounds like a normal guest! I swear as a member of the largest company in the world (in my opinion) I really love how awesome it is! I love Hollywood Studios!

I am really lucky because where I work is where they have the Jedi training for kids and I am like I get to see it every day I work! A little sad I can't be a young jedi because I'd so pwn Darth Vader!

My tour guide was awesome because he was energetic and fun also a muppet fan which makes me happy!

Oh! I got my costume today and I love how cute it is and I wear a nifty hat with it too to look all spiffy!

I am really excited for tomorrow as it's my first day in costume so I won't have to wear professional clothes anymore!

That's it for now, gonna go soak my poor feet and think of what to cook for dinner.
